Multiplexers

Equipments that operate on base network have an important role in the network because these operate circuits and services routing over technology domains. ReKoD® provides easy-to-use functions to users for managing devices, planning new nodes.

The next list gives an overview about the possibilities of node registration:

  • equipment module supports the model of active equipments from the simpler subscriber PCMs to the high technology multiplexers,

  • system fully parameter driven; new technologies can be introduced without program development,

  • the system handles physical structure of equipment. ReKoD® handles switches, equipment, racks, slots, cards, card-in-card, ports, port and slot relations. All known technologies in telecommunication can be modelled in the system without exception (PCM, MUX, PDH, SDH, ADSL etc.),

  • ReKoD® handles serial number, barcode, IP address, operational status and other properties of equipment as well as any other properties defined by system operators.

  • physical ports can be assigned to the equipments.

  • the circuit building on an equipment is controlled by rules, which can be defined in the system,

  • the equipment module provides various transmission configurations as drop-insert, PMP (Point-MultiPoint), etc.

Port types of the nodes will determine, what type of services or additional services, can be offered to customer. We have to remark that equipments layer represent not “only” physical but logical layer too because circuits run over of that.

CPE

ReKoD® handles customer premises equipment as well. Any time a new service is ordered and the reservation request is sent to ReKoD® , the system reserves a CPE of the appropriate type from the appropriate storage of the appropriate organization unit. At time of the activation the technician specifies the serial number of the equipment and from that point the CPE assigned to the service will be uniquely identified.
